The Media Visits Overflow
WGN and NBC Chicago both visited Overflow Coffee during Women's History Month to interview Samotta Acklin, the daughter of Chicago singer/songwriter, Barbara Acklin. Barbara got her first big break in the music industry while working as a receptionist at Brunswick Records in 1966. Brunswick was located then at 1449 S Michigan Ave, now the home of Entrenuity (with Mox.E Coworking and Overflow Coffee). It was an honor to welcome Samotta and to participate in the opportunity to recognize her mother's prolific contribution to Chicago soul.
